Manager, Transportation Operations
JOB PURPOSE
The Transport Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensuring compliance with Profit & Loss (P&L) objectives. This role is pivotal in managing the execution team, ensuring that all financial and operational drivers are met while adhering to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Compliance (HSEE) policies as well as country legislation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supervision of Subordinates
Organise and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within the Transport Operations is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and departmental policy.
Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development.
Budgets and Financial Plans
Monitor the financial performance of activities within the Transport Operations versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.
Job Specific Accountability
Oversee daily transport operations and manage KPIs to ensure effective service delivery.
Implement and manage resources necessary for achieving operational objectives.
Ensure adherence to HSEE and Compliance policies set by SAL and local regulations.
Monitor and control financial KPIs, ensuring deliverables are met according to budget.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within the transport function.
Drive customer initiatives within the transport operations, ensuring successful project execution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers to enhance service quality.
Ensure customer projects and activities are adequately planned, resourced, and executed successfully.
